Yivalese Font + Ruby Extras

This page demonstrates the ``yzruby`` plugin syntax.

Yivalese font wrappers

Family Main tag Synonyms
Present / regular {{yz|text}} {{yzreg|text}}, {{yzregular|text}}, {{yznormal|text}}
Modern / future {{yzbold|text}} {{yzmodern|text}}, {{yzfuture|text}}
Ancient / old {{yzitalic|text}} {{yzold|text}}, {{yzancient|text}}

Optional size is the third argument: ``tiny``, ``small``, ``normal``, ``big``, ``huge``. ``tiny`` is the legacy extra-small size; ``huge`` is the largest.

Examples:

Size Example
Regular {{yz|Dywlxn}} → Dywlxn
Big {{yzregular|Dywlxn|big}} → Dywlxn
Modern {{yzmodern|Dywlxn}} → Dywlxn
Huge {{yzfuture|Dywlxn|huge}} → Dywlxn
Ancient / small {{yzancient|Dywlxn|small}} → Dywlxn

Ruby syntax

  • Standard: {{ruby|Dywlxn|Suram}} → Dywlxn(Suram)
  • Shorthand: %Dywlxn|Suram% → Dywlxn(Suram)

Auto ruby tables

Use {{autoruby}} around a simple pipe table. The first column is the base text, the second column is the 1:1 reading, and the third column can stay as the gloss or meaning.

basereadingmeaning
El(Me-here) Mu(Worm-here)Me-here Worm-hereI am a worm
Eli(Me-hither) mwi(Worm-hither)Me-hither Worm-hitherI want a worm

Notes:

  • If a row has more base words than readings, the leftovers stay plain.
  • If a row has a header row with ``^`` cells, it stays a normal header row.
  • {{autoruby}} keeps the base text in the page's normal font and only inserts ruby readings.
