This is an old revision of the document!
This is a digital nest for the creation of every shiny melodic fragment, harmonic experiment, and rhythmic trinket I find. Each section represents a challenge to capture a specific mood through a specific musical constraint.

Note: Sections left empty for individual key-based compositions.
Division: 19 equal steps per octave. Characteristic: Greatly improved "pure" minor thirds and major sixths compared to 12-tet.
Division: 22 equal steps per octave. Characteristic: Excellent "super-major" and "sub-minor" intervals; very distinct "alien" feel.
Division: 31 equal steps per octave. Characteristic: Very close to 1/4 comma meantone; allows for "septimal" (harmonic 7th) intervals.
Division: Based on the "tritave" (ratio of 3:1) divided into 13 steps. Characteristic: No octaves! A truly experimental landscape.
Notes: C - D - E𝄳 - F - G - A - B𝄳 - C (𝄳 = half-flat / quarter-tone)
Notes: C - D♭ - E - F - G - A♭ - B♭ - C (Characterized by the augmented second between D♭ and E)
Notes: C - D♭ - E - F - G - A♭ - B - C (Morning Raag; solemn and prayerful)
Notes: C - D - E - F♯ - G - A - B - C (Evening Raag; uses the Lydian #4)

Notes: C - D - E - F♯ - A - B♭ Source: Alexander Scriabin. Hexatonic (6-note) scale.
Notes: C - C♯ - D♯ - E - F♯ - G - A - B♭ - C Characteristic: Alternating half and whole steps. Symmetry.
Notes: C - D♭ - E - F♯ - G♯ - A♯ - B - C Source: Giuseppe Verdi.
Concept: Mirroring C Major around the C/G axis. Result: G Phrygian (G - A♭ - B♭ - C - D - E♭ - F - G).
Constraint: Every melodic interval must be an augmented 4th (tritone). Chords must contain at least one tritone.
Constraint: A single melodic line only. No harmony, no chords, no double-tracking. Focus on rhythm and phrasing.
Constraint: Use 3 against 4 or 5 against 7 patterns throughout the piece to mimic chaotic bird flight.
Constraint: Use portamento (slides) and microtonal bends to mimic the "caw" and "click" sounds of a crow.
Constraint: One short, high-pitched melodic phrase must repeat (loop) through the entire song regardless of key changes.
Constraint: Use all 12 notes of the chromatic scale in a specific order. No note can repeat until all 12 are played.
